Technique Tuesday for April

Good morning everyone, wherever you are in the world, thanks for joining me for an experimental Technique Tuesday!

This is a very different project if you haven’t thought of including text in your work and has been made possible by the fact that Virginia Woolf’s work ‘To the Lighthouse’ came into the public domain on the 1st of January 2023. I’ll let you fall down the rabbit hole of why the copyright was extended on this work and many others, it’s too lengthy a process to describe here but safe to say, her work can now be used and the chance to incorporate it in a painting is thrilling to me. I’ve combined it with an image of Portland Bill, one of Dorset’s most famous landmarks and so I hope you will enjoy the painting that is a result of this collaboration.

So grab your materials, unleash your creativity, and let's embark on exciting artistic discoveries, don’t forget to leave me a comment either here or on YouTube and if you share your work on social media, please include the tag @aliboardartist.

See you again very soon, I’ll be back with another TT on the 7th of May, Ali.

The equipment Ali will use in her demo:

In previous Technique Tuesdays, Ali has provided affiliate links to the equipment she uses, she would receive a very small amount of money if you purchased via these links but she has now decided to do something a little different. You will still find all of the equipment listed below but now, if you have enjoyed Ali’s tutorial and would like to make sure that they stay free in the future (they take approximately six hours to prepare and deliver), then you are very welcome to ‘Buy her a Coffee’ or as we prefer to say ‘Buy the hens some corn’. The button below will take your donation through to our checkout system BUT if you are on a tight budget, please keep your money for more important things, we are, after all, a community where we look out for each other and we want you to enjoy our content.

See this donate button in the original post

Have you seen that Ali offers Pay as You Learn tutorials?

Created for you to enjoy separately from her other range of tuition, and you only ever have to pay for what you would like to take part in. They are designed to be enjoyed as individual lessons, learning a new technique or tackling a subject that you may not have encountered before and as long as you create an account and keep the details, you will have access for life.
