Speckle, Spatter & Shred

I’m back from my holiday and raring to go! It’s amazing what a break does for your energy and clearing out your head for new creative projects.

This month I’ve called my chosen theme ‘Kingdom of Rust’ and it’s going to be exploring all sorts of texture and mark making, I’ve had loads of fun creating new tutorials and I’m looking forward to the workshops later in the month.

Today’s TT shows the difference between three terms that I use to describe similar textures: Speckle, Spatter and Shred and I demonstrate how you can use them in a simple study of a speckled egg from one of my hens. It also includes a few hints on masking out and how to use Milton sterilising fluid to clean up any ink overspill.

As always, let me know if I can help you in any way and until I see you next, keep creating and being your awesome selves, Ali
