All Day Mixed Media Workshops
Join Ali for a series of day-long mixed-media workshops, running from 10am to 3pm and available either online or face to face at her North Dorset studio. Each session explores a fresh creative theme through live demonstration, guided tuition, and supportive discussion, giving you space to experiment and develop your personal artistic voice. Working with watercolour-based techniques alongside a range of contemporary materials, these workshops encourage play, curiosity, and confident creativity.
Whether you join from home or in the studio, numbers are kept deliberately small to ensure plenty of individual attention and feedback. Ali tailors guidance to each participant, making these sessions suitable for all abilities — from complete beginners to more experienced artists who want to expand their skills or refresh their practice.
You will need to supply your own materials; a suggested basic kit is sent to you when you book via email. Studio participants can also enjoy an inclusive atmosphere and good-quality refreshments throughout the day.
Ali will encourage you to paint an iconic grand piano with impressionistic techniques, replicating the structure while suggesting the music from within the instrument.
Enjoy traditional and contemporary techniques that explore colour and dynamic marks on the paper.

A favourite subjects of Ali’s as they are a wonderful excuse to suggest colour and texture. This workshop is a rare event in Ali’s calendar as using acrylics isn’t something she often teaches so why not join her to learn new ways of applying an explosion of colour to an interesting surface?
